FOR the BIRDS: Why do so many birds including Eagles continue to get struck by Wind Turbine Blades. Is it the Wind Farms’ fault? Turns out that painting 1 of the 3 Blades BLACK reduces bird strikes about 70%. While the 1st study done by NREL occurred 1999-2002, stating Motion Smear caused difficulty in birds seeing the blades, painting 1 of 3 blades has occurred in 2 test cases both with reduced bird fatalities. Our focus regarding Birds is NOT Political candidates nor parties or yes/no for Wind Farms. In recent years, BIOFUELS including E15 have made a remarkable comeback. From Diesel powered vehicles, to trains, planes and generators, these alternative fuels are not just good for the environment—they’re also often less expensive and very accessible. GG’s been working with several Congress Members in Biofuel producing areas including Iowa’s Zach Nunn on a ‘School Bus Choice’ option that lets districts opt for what’s best locally: Biodiesel in B20, B100, Renewable Diesel, CNG Compressed Natural Gas, Propane, Electric School Busses plus Clean Diesel as upgrades or new REDUCES EMISSIONS.
